2022 Cappies Gala Honors Excellence in High School Theater

The Cappies of the National Capital area held its annual awards gala honoring excellence in high school theater on June 6 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Awards brought home by FCPS students for writing included the following:

  • Maryland Theatre Guide Returning Critic: Gwen Ihde, Oakton High School
  • Bill Strauss Graduating Critic: Amelia Preble, Robinson Secondary School

The following performances brought home awards in the categories listed below:

    Choreography - Karina Yakubisin
    Ensemble in a Musical - Follies Girls
    Dancer in a Female Role - Karina Yakubisin
    Dancer in a Male Role - August Rivers
