High School Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)

Information on AAP services for high school students: Honors, Advanced Placement® (AP), International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programs (MYP), International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Program (DP), and Dual Enrollment (DE).

Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI)

This year's summer institute will be held in person at Woodson HS from June 26 to 29, 2023. The institute begins each day with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and instruction from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.

About APSI

The APSI offers teachers the information, tools, and strategies they need to build successful Advanced Placement programs in their schools. Participants will focus on curriculum challenges, share and discuss teaching strategies, and review the contributions of research to content, teaching, and labs.

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Advanced Academic Programs offers several types of challenging learning experiences to meet the needs of a broad range of advanced learners in high schools. Advanced Academic services are implemented using a school-based model through a variety of rigorous programs and coursework. Course offerings vary by each school.

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST)
