Doing Business with FCPS
The Office of Procurement Services (OPS) is the central procurement office for FCPS. The mission of OPS is to demonstrate good stewardship and best practices in the purchase of goods and services through fair competitive processes in accordance with applicable regulations; provide timely distribution; offer high quality customer service; and develop and implement innovative technological solutions to improve procurement processes and division wide services.
For the fourth consecutive year, Fairfax County Public Schools has been awarded the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) for 2017 from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI). The AEP Award is earned by public organizations that obtain a high score based on standardized criteria. The AEP is awarded annually to recognize Innovation, Professionalism, E-Procurement, Productivity, and Leadership in the procurement function.
The AEP program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually.
For 2017, there were 204 successful applicants, including 48 counties, 68 cities, 25 higher education agencies, 26 school districts, 25 special districts, and 12 state agencies.
Fairfax County Public Schools is one of only seven government agencies in Virginia and one of only 26 school districts in the United States to receive the award.
