Math Inventory (MI) and Reading Inventory (RI) Assessments

Secondary screening assessments provide information about student strengths and needs in reading and mathematics

Most Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) middle school students and some high school students take the online Reading Inventory and Math Inventory assessments. These computer-based tests provide teachers with information about students’ development in reading and mathematics skills that ensure every learner is on track to college and career readiness. Teachers use Reading Inventory and Math Inventory scores along with other data points to determine if a student needs additional academic support.
