FCPS schools offer PSAT exam opportunities

PSAT/NMSQT Assessment for Grades 10-11

FCPS high schools annually host the Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) exam. The exam is offered each fall at no charge to FCPS tenth and eleventh graders. The primary date for the PSAT/NMSQT assessments in school year 2023-24 was Wednesday, October 11.

The College Board PSAT/NMSQT Scores webpage includes the digital PSAT/NMSQT score release schedule and resources for accessing and understanding score reports. Eleventh grade students who participate in the PSAT/NMSQT may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Students and families can find additional information on the National Merit Scholarship Program website.

The Accommodations Process for College Board Testing webpage provides instructions on how to request College Board testing accommodations, including the required input and consent forms (Enclosures 2-3). To request new or amended College Board accommodations for the October PSAT/NMSQT, return the input and consent forms to the school by the published deadline. Please return forms to your student’s high school.
