Onboarding - Helpful Information

Optimizing Your Onboarding Experience

Overview of the Onboarding Experience

Onboarding tasks are split into four (4) phases. Completing the online onboarding tasks is estimated to take 45 - 90 minutes.

  • Phase 1: Review and update your created FCPS profile, including uploading virtual copies of your identification documents. For a list of acceptable documents to verify your identity, please visit the USCIS Form I-9 Acceptable Documents website.

  • Phase 2: Visit us in person at the FCPS Welcome Center located in our Gatehouse Administration Center for physical document verification, submission of negative Tuberculosis (TB) results, to have your badge photograph taken, and for fingerprinting.

  • Phase 3: Complete your direct deposit form and other personnel tasks needed to finalize onboarding.

  • Phase 4: You will have 30 days after your first day of work to select your benefits.

Tips for Using the Online Onboarding System

  • The system will log you out after 10 minutes of inactivity. If you are logged out, you may log back in at any time to continue with your Onboarding process where you left off.
  • It’s best to log off if you plan to leave your computer for more than five minutes.
  • You will want to ensure your browser zoom is 100% or less.
  • If you click “save and continue,” your information is saved, but you have the ability to go back and change it before it is submitted.
  • If you click “save and finish later,” your information will be saved, and you will be logged out of Onboarding.
  • Forms are not saved unless one of the “save” options has been selected.
    • Please double-check your information for accuracy before you click “save and submit,” as once submitted, the information can’t be changed, and the information submitted may affect your pay.
  • Read all of the information on the page before you start each task.
  • After you complete a task, that task will move to the bottom of the task list and you will see the next task you need to complete at the top.
