The Human Resources Office of Employee Relations (OER) Statement on Non-Discrimination

Non-Discrimination Policy Statement

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to a learning and working environment free from all forms of discrimination. No applicant or employee on the basis of race, sex, color, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, pregnancy status, childbirth or related medical conditions, marital status, veteran status, and disability shall be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under, any education program or activity, as required by law. Retaliation against any applicant or employee who reports or participates as a witness in the investigation of a discrimination and/or harassment complaint is strictly prohibited.

Filing a Complaint of Discrimination

To file a complaint of discrimination, an applicant, employee, or parent must complete a complaint form via the FCPS website. A complaint of discrimination should be filed immediately, but not beyond one year following the event giving rise to the complaint. After the form is completed, activate the “submit” button, and the complaint will be forwarded to the Office of Employee Relations (OER). Upon receipt of the complaint, the automated system will send an email acknowledging receipt of the complaint. As soon as practical, the OER staff will review the complaint to determine whether the allegation presented must be investigated pursuant to FCPS regulations.

If you have any questions, you may contact the Office of Employee Relations by submitting an email to [email protected].
