Author Alicia D. Williams says, the inspiration behind her award-winning book, Genesis Begins Again, came from “trying to figure out” what she wanted to write. On this edition of Meet the Author, Ms. Williams shares the inspiration behind her picture books, The Talk, Jump At the Sun: The True Life Tale of Unstoppable Storycatcher, Zora Neale Hurston, and Shirley Chisholm Dared: The Story of the First Black Woman In Congress.

Students from Edgar Allen Poe Middle School ask thoughtful questions, via zoom and a roll-in about using picture books with middle grade learners rounds out the show. For grades 4-8.
