At 7:00 p.m., the National Anthem was performed by the Annandale High School Singers under the direction of Pat Vaughn.

The School Board approved proclamations honoring Month of the Military Child, Arab American Heritage Month (highlighting FCPS Alum Hoda Kotb!), and Volunteer and Mentor Appreciation Week.

The School Board heard from 7 members of the public during Community Participation.

Student Representative Rida Karim presented Student Representative Matters to the School Board.

Superintendent Reid presented the Strategic Plan Goal 5 Baseline Report. The School Board approved the Goal 5 Baseline Report as the division’s starting point for the work toward achieving the goals in our Strategic Plan 2023-30.

The School Board also approved additional School Board Advisory Committee Appointments, minutes of the March 21, 2024 meeting, and several contracts.

Superintendent Reid presented a monitoring report on Executive Limitation-6: Financial Administration. The Board found that the Superintendent has made adequate progress towards compliance with EL-6. In a related action, the School Board voted to maintain Executive Limitation 6: Financial Administration, as it is currently detailed in the Strategic Governance Manual.

Superintendent Reid celebrated the 10th anniversary of Portrait of a Graduate (POG) in Academic Matters and presented Superintendent Matters.

Finally, the School Board regular meeting concluded with Board Matters.
