Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI)
Due to COVID-19, this year's summer institute will be online. Instruction will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Easter Standard Time (EST). Synchronous and asynchronous instruction determined by the consultant.
- Week 1: June 21-25, 2021 (sessions for week 1)
- Week 2: June 28- July 2, 2021 (sessions for week 2)
All assignments must be completed within ten days of the start date of the institute. All participants are expected to be online at the same time for synchronous instruction.
About APSI
The APSI offers teachers the information, tools, and strategies they need to build successful Advanced Placement programs in their schools. Participants will focus on curriculum challenges, share and discuss teaching strategies, and review the contributions of research to content, teaching, and labs.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Advanced Academic Programs offers several types of challenging learning experiences to meet the needs of a broad range of advanced learners in high schools. Advanced Academic services are implemented using a school-based model through a variety of rigorous programs and coursework. Course offerings vary by each school.
