Classification and Compensation

Providing functional and technical support to support the mission of Human Resources.

The Classification and Compensation section classifies the Division’s jobs through a formal job description review.  The team then assists with a systematic process of classifying or categorizing jobs and pay grades within an organization based on various factors such as the nature of the work, responsibilities, qualifications, and skills required.

The purpose of the FCPS compensation plan is to place school system support personnel on a compensation plan that will attract and retain employees, maintain external market competitiveness and internal equity, and establish procedures by which employees who have proven their ability may qualify for and obtain promotions to more responsible positions in the service of the school system.
