The late Ruth Bader Ginsberg once said, “Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” Jamie Gadley is a relentless champion for children and a merchant of hope. She cultivates a caring community for students, staff, and families wherever she is planted and consistently works to elevate access, opportunities, and achievement for all students. Jamie has also focused on forming and leading programs that support and enhance learning for children regardless of where they are in their learning continuum. It would be said of Jamie that she welcomes, engages, and includes the members of her sphere of influence to elevate excellence. All this, with her vision and heart, truly makes her an outstanding leader.

Kelly epitomizes grit and integrity. She is a servant-leader who does whatever it takes, every day, to ensure the right things happen for students, teachers, and families. Kelly demonstrates a dedication to educating children in a way that exemplifies the equity FCPS strives toward. During the school day she can be found in classrooms, the cafeteria, mentoring students, supporting instructional planning in CLT meetings, and so much more. Kelly leads the SIIP, embodying leadership that promotes a school culture focused on collaboration and collective responsibility for all students. Kelly is known to be a reflective practitioner who is visible throughout the school, listens with compassion and empathy, and absolutely loves teaching and learning.

Christine leads with her heart and radiates a spirit of positivity. She is a fierce advocate for all children and seeks access to excellence for each student the same way she would for her own children. She believes in creating a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment and has high expectations for students and staff alike. She is committed to providing rigorous instruction for all. At the core of her philosophy of education is her belief that every student can reach their maximum potential through high quality instruction and the love and support of an adult who believes in them. Christine strives to be that adult for all students.

Jennifer Knox’s leadership is anchored to a purpose-driven compassion and vision for students, especially those under-served in traditional settings, and her sense of mission and vision guide us all. She encourages creativity and big ideas, exhibits empathy for students and faculty, can take seemingly insurmountable goals and drive them into doable tasks. She shows up with energy and joy for the work, and always, always commits fully to increasing access and opportunity for IAS students and staff. Jennifer’s ability to lead by example and navigate challenges, partnered with her transparent vulnerability, creates a powerful combination for successful leadership. Jennifer Knox is a leader in “HOPE,” Chief Treasure Hunter, and the ideation of the “Phoenix”, IAS’ mascot.

Katie has dedicated her career to ensuring all students learn at the highest levels. In her time at Glasgow, she led a schoolwide instructional shift at the largest middle school in Virginia   to a student-centered model to best support students’ diverse needs. She co-developed and implemented a schoolwide walkthrough system which provides regular, targeted feedback and coaching for every teacher, coach, and administrator. As a result, Glasgow’s SOL scores rose from accredited-with-warning status to full accreditation, with growth across every subgroup. Katie believes to her core that high quality instruction is fundamental to equity and that strong collaboration is how schools serve students best. She leads through building others’ capacity, forging strong relationships, and seeking and growing from feedback.

linda shannonMs. Shannon is a leader who is deeply committed to building relationships with the students, parents, and staff members she serves. For many, she is a sounding board and a safe place to be heard. As a leader, she fosters a student-focused culture and guides her teams toward data-driven decisions and targeted interventions. Her investment in student success, procedural knowledge, and commitment to a collaborative team approach make the difference for her students. A student shared, “She took the pressure off my mom and dad’s shoulders and willingly put it on her own.” Ms. Shannon’s efforts to support others are rooted in genuine compassion, kindness, and a desire to do her best for others.
