"I studied English and American literature in college in my home country, and I was amazed by the positive impact of learning about other people’s languages and cultures in shaping our identities and making us who we are, in addition to getting us closer to those people," says Wisam Moula, Arabic language teacher. "Given that I come from an Arabic speaking city (Damascus) that has a very rich culture and literature, I felt that I have a lot to offer to my community by teaching Arabic and spreading awareness and education about the Arabic language, culture and literature, and to help my students bridge the gap between the American culture that I admire a lot and the Arabic culture that I am proud of."
