Virginia Tech Holding Meetings on Educational Leadership Programs in February

For over forty years, Virginia Tech's Educational Leadership Programs have prepared aspiring and current educational administrators throughout the Commonwealth for the important "next step" in career advancement. Graduates leave with the skills they need to lead ethically; advance equity and social justice in educational settings; consider and implement educational policy; lead innovative practices; communicate with diverse constituents; and improve the learning and well-being of all preK-12 students. Virtual meetings will be held in February to provide information about the programs.

Zoom meeting links will be sent after registration and an email reminder will be sent the morning of the information meeting date. Family and School Partnerships Offering Professional Development Opportunities

Family and School Partnerships is offering three Academy classes for staff. Interested staff members should register in MyPDE using the links below. The classes are:

  • Engaging Families for Student Success: This course provides a solid foundation of effective family and community engagement by deepening the understanding of the relationship between family engagement and improved school/student outcomes from birth through high school. Register in MyPDE
  • Culturally Responsive Family Engagement: This course provides a foundation of effective culturally responsive family engagement by addressing diversity, inclusivity, and equity through a culturally responsive family engagement framework. Register in MyPDE
  • Supporting Military-Connected Youth in the Classroom: This course is designed to increase awareness and understanding of how to support military-connected students and families in educational settings. Register in MyPDE
