Major Life Events that May Occur during Your Employment with FCPS that Allow You to Make Changes to Your Benefits
The following are some life events (qualifying events) that you may experience during your employment with FCPS and instructions on how to make changes to your benefits, if applicable. Changes to benefits are time-sensitive, and the appropriate paperwork must be completed within the specified timeframe of the life event. The requested change must be consistent with the qualifying event. To view the list of acceptable required documents, view the Dependent Eligibility Chart.
If you wish to make changes to your benefits but have not experienced a qualifying event, you may request the changes during the annual Open Enrollment period (typically held in the fall), with an effective date of January 1.
