Tech Adventure Camp

A summer enrichment and exploratory program in career and technical education for students in grades 2 - 6.

Are you ready to create, explore, and learn in Summer 2021?

Tech Adventure Camp (TAC) is a weekly exploratory camp designed to give students the opportunity to explore STEAM, culinary, health, trades, business and marketing areas. The camp is open to students in grades 2-6 during the 2020-21 school year. 

Tech Adventure Camp Program Information


Open to students in grades 2-6 during the 2020-21 school year. Students currently in grades 7-11 may participate in CTE Summer Academy. Space is limited, and registration is on a first-come basis until seats are filled.

All students are welcome:

  • FCPS students.
  • Students enrolled in private schools.
  • Students who are homeschooled.
  • Non-Fairfax County residents.

Dates and Times

  • Week 1: July 12 - July 16, 2021
  • Week 2: July 19 - July 23, 2021
  • Week 3: July 26 - July 30, 2021
  • 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Early drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m.
  • After-care is available between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Full: $275 per week

Free and reduced lunch: No tuition

Classes and Daily Schedule

Students have five classes every day. There is one, 55-minute class in STEAM, health and medical, culinary, trade and industrial, and business and marketing every day. 

2021 Themes and Course Descriptions

Week 1: Young Entrepreneurs: Food Truck Edition!

Are you ready to become a Food Truck Master? Learn what it takes to start a food truck business. Design the truck, create healthy recipes, and determine the marketing plan. Campers will also cook recipes for their food truck! 

Week 2: The Great Rescue Mission

Your mission: prepare for and complete a rescue expedition. Help people in emergencies and promote the efforts of others. Mission accomplished!

Week 3: CTE Olympics

Competition is building in the CTE pathways! Go behind the scenes in the athletic world to learn how athletes perform. Tackle sports marketing. Score at keeping athletes safe. Campers may do light physical activities to learn about the health of athletes.


Students will have a 30-minute lunch break every day.

FCPS Food Services provides lunch for $3.50 or students may bring a lunch from home. FCPS students can use their school accounts or pay with cash. Non-FCPS students can pay with cash.

Starting mid-June (specific date TBD), view the lunch menu by school location. Vending machines are available.


There is bus transportation from select FCPS high schools and middle schools outside of the Robinson pyramid. Transportation to and from these schools is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Transportation information will be communicated to families prior to the start of the program.

CTE Summer Enrichment After Care

New to Summer 2021

CTE Summer Enrichment will provide extra time and space for students to continue exploring, creating, and learning after Tech Adventure Camp ends for the day. Students will have options for individual exploration or group freeform play. Students may also bring books, games, or other activities from home. We encourage students to bring a snack, food is not provided during this program. Transportation is not provided for this program and is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Tech Adventure Camp at Home

Explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses from home at your own pace! This FREE resource includes activity guides and supply lists needed to create several fun projects in STEAM, cooking, health, trades, business and marketing areas. 

Students can access these guides by visiting the Enrichment Activities Google Site. Students must log in using their FCPS G Suite account (a student's ID number followed by


We are currently receiving a very high volume of registrations for Summer programs. Wait times for online registration processing may be longer than expected.

Non-FCPS students must provide a copy of the following documents which can be emailed to or mailed to:

  • Birth certificate
  • Medical evidence of immunization
  • The most recent 2020-21 report card


All students must deliver the appropriate form(s) prior to the first day of the camp. Forms can be emailed to Beth Mehr.

Students without the appropriate forms will not be able to participate until forms are submitted.

Refund Information

Refund requests must be submitted online by

  • 11:59 PM, Wednesday, June 30.

Log-in to your ACE Account to request a refund. No late requests will be considered.

Credit card payments minus a withdrawal fee ($25) will be refunded to the credit card account. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. The time to process a credit card refund varies by banks/financial institutions. Other refunds will be made by check and may take up to 4 weeks to process.
