Tech Adventure Camp
A summer enrichment and exploratory program in career and technical education for students in grades 2 - 6.

Tech Adventure Camp (TAC) is a weekly exploratory camp designed to give students the opportunity to explore STEAM, culinary, health, trades, business and marketing areas. The camp is open to students in grades 2-6 during the 2021-22 school year.
Tech Adventure Camp Program Information
Open to students in grades 2-6 during the 2021-22 school year. Students currently in grades 7-11 may participate in CTE Summer Academy. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come basis until seats are filled.
All students are welcome:
- FCPS students.
- Students enrolled in private schools.
- Students who are homeschooled.
- Non-Fairfax County residents.
- Week 1: July 11 - 15, 2022
- Week 2: July 18 - 22, 2022
- Week 3: July 25 - 29, 2022
- 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Early drop off begins at 7:30 a.m.
Lake Braddock Secondary School
- $275 per week
- Students eligible for free and reduced lunch: No tuition.*
*To be eligible, students must apply on Free and Reduced Meals website. You must allow your benefits to be shared or submit the Consent to Share Information Form.
Classes and Daily Schedule
Students have five classes every day. There is one 55 minute class in STEAM, health and medical, trade and industrial, culinary, and computer science every day.
2022 Themes and Course Descriptions
July 11 - 15: Welcome to Mars!
This week is going to be out of this world! Join us as we blast off into space and explore how astronauts survive on another planet.
July 18 - 22: Going Green
It’s time we take action and become more eco-friendly. This week we’re learning how to be more “green” and make earth-friendly choices.
July 25 - 29: Young Makers
This week is all about doing it ourselves. We’re learning how to make different things and becoming more makerminded.
Students will have a 30-minute lunch break every day. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
There is bus transportation from select FCPS high schools and middle schools. Transportation to and from these schools is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Transportation information will be communicated to families prior to the start of the program.

All students must deliver the appropriate form(s) prior to the first day of the camp. Forms can be emailed to Beth Mehr.

Lab Safety and Food Agreement
As part of the registration process, parents and students must agree to the following lab safety and food guidelines.
Students without the appropriate forms will not be able to participate until forms are submitted.
Non-FCPS students must provide a copy of the following documents:
- Birth certificate
- Medical evidence of immunization
- The most recent 2019-20 school report card
which can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to FCPS-ACE, Department C 6815 Edsall Rd, Springfield, VA 22151.
Refund requests must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m., Saturday, June, 25 2022.
Log-in to your ACE Account to request a refund. No late requests will be considered.
Credit card payments minus a withdrawal fee ($25) will be refunded to the credit card account. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. The time to process a credit card refund varies by banks/financial institutions. Other refunds will be made by check and may take up to 4 weeks to process.
Tech Adventure Camp at Home
Explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses from home at your own pace! This FREE resource includes activity guides and supply lists needed to create several fun projects in STEAM, cooking, health, trades, business and marketing areas.
Students can access these guides by visiting the Enrichment Activities Google Site. Students must log in using their FCPS G Suite account (a student's ID number followed by @fcpsschools.net).
