FCPS Students Excel in 2025 Regional Scholastic Art Awards, Earning 809 Honors
The 2025 Regional Scholastic Art Awards program has awarded Fairfax County Public Schools students in grades 7-12 a total of 809 awards for outstanding artwork, including 210 Gold Key awards, 235 Silver Key awards, and 364 Honorable Mention awards.

Fairfax County School Board Approves Capital Improvement Program, Including New Schools and Renovations to Enhance Learning Spaces and Support Community Needs
The Fairfax County School Board approved the annual update to the FCPS Capital Improvement Program (CIP) at their regular board meeting last night. A CIP is a working budget document that shows timing and costs of improvement to school buildings, such as renovations, additions, and new schools.

The "Readers are Leaders" program at Braddock Elementary School is a collaboration with Annandale High School basketball players who mentor young students. The high schoolers help the younger kids sound out words and read more fluently. The program provides extra enrichment, helping students understand more of their reading material.

CTE Summer Academy (CSA) and Tech Adventure Camp (TAC) are hands-on enrichment programs for students in grades K-11, offering an exciting opportunity to explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, develop new skills, and begin career exploration. Open to FCPS students, private school students, homeschoolers, and non-Fairfax County residents, CTE summer camps are the perfect way to discover CTE electives offered through FCPS.
