Wolf, talks about her historical fiction novel Runs with Courage — the story of a young Lakota girl who reluctantly leaves her family’s reservation to attend a Christian residential boarding school in the 1880s. Wolf discusses the methods used by the U.S. government in an attempt to erase Native American culture and why cultural identity is important.
