"Teaching is more than just a profession to me; it is my lifelong passion," says Jennys McKinney, Spanish teacher at Navy Elementary School. 

"For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of sharing the Spanish language and culture with students both in my home country of Colombia and in the United States. One of the most gratifying aspects of teaching Spanish is the spark and excitement in my student’s eyes when they communicate in Spanish or make connections between Spanish and their home language and culture.

"Teaching Spanish allows me to not only equip students with practical language skills but also broaden their horizons and foster a sense of cultural appreciation. By teaching Spanish, I hope to empower students to navigate an increasingly globalized world with confidence and cultural sensitivity.”
