Weekly Themes

We are World Heroes! We are the future! It’s up to us to keep what we have working! Spend your weeks
exploring ways to protect and enhance our world through the arts! What can you create and share in art, music, theater, and dance? Find out this summer and don’t forget to pack your cape!

Week 1: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Conserve

This week we’ll look at how we can use what we have to create fun performances and
art, repurpose old materials into something new and different, and use less of what we do have
to experience the arts. Less can be more!

Week 2: Build Communities

This week we’ll look at what makes a community and how we can enhance what we
have! How do the arts affect our daily lives? What can we create to make it better? Find and
build connections between music, art, dance, and theater into your community!

Week 3: Protect the Elements

This week we will look at the four elements of the world (Earth, Air, Water, and Fire) to
inspire us to create music, dance, art, and theater. How can we be protectors of these elements
so that they are safe?

Week 4: Share Cultures

What makes you special? Our culture, and who we are make us each unique. Explore
your own culture and others this week as we learn and create in music, art, theatre and dance!

Lunch

Students will have a 30-minute lunch break every day. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Transportation

There is bus transportation from select FCPS high schools and middle schools outside of the Lake Braddock Secondary School pyramid. Transportation to and from these schools is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Transportation information will be communicated to families prior to the start of the program.
