Thoreau Matters September 11th Edition

Late Buses and After School Activities
Late buses start on Monday, 9/15.  Students shuld check the weekly calendar on Blackboard, the calendar outside the cafeteria, and listen to WEXL to know what clubs are starting next week. Click here for an updated list of After School Activities.

Back to School Night
On Wednesday, September 17th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, we invite all parents to visit Thoreau to walk through their child's schedule and meet the teachers and staff. This program begins promptly at 5:30 pm. Limited parking is available at Thoreau so we encourage all parents to car pool or walk to school if possible.

T. J. School for Science & Technology Night
On Monday, September 15th from 7pm-8pm representatives from Thomas Jefferson School of Science and Technology will be holding an informational meeting in the Thoreau Library for 8th grade students and parents who are interested in attending Thomas Jefferson. Click here for more information.

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We are looking forward to welcoming back our new students and families to the Thoreau Community of Learners. Please take a moment to read our welcome letter from Principal Hood which provides important information about the opening of the 2014-2015 school year. Additionally, please help to ensure that the forms required for students are completed and returned to school. 2014-2015 Bus Routes have been posted on the Thoreau Activities site on FCPS 24/7 (Blackboard), in which all current students are enrolled.

Click the “Transportation” button on the left side of the screen
