Spring SOL Testing Days
Parents, please assist your children in doing well on these tests by making sure students get a good night’s sleep prior to the testing day and by eating a good breakfast on the day of each test. Please avoid scheduling appointments on days your student will be tested. Testing dates are scheduled between May 24 through June 17. For a detailed schedule, click here.

Excellence In Action Summer Program-July/Aug. 2016
This summer Thoreau MS will again be offering its Excellence in Action Program to rising 7th grade students.  This program is designed by Thoreau staff members to provide students with the essential background knowledge and skills that will help them have a successful transition to middle school.  EIA is a fee-based, week-long, half-day program. Session II – August 8th to August 12th – 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Algebra Boot Camp
This is a 5-day course for students entering Algebra I who completed Math 7 during the 2015-16 school year.  The course will be taught by Thoreau Math teachers.  Topics covered will relate to those in the 1st quarter curriculum of Algebra I.  The intent of the camp is to reactivate pre-algebra knowledge and preview new material.  Students will be provided with all materials necessary.  If you have already purchased a TI-84 graphing calculator for the 2016-17 school year it should be brought to camp each day.  Part of the course of studies will be use of the graphing calculator.
When: August 8th-12th
Location: Madison High School
Hours: 9am - 1pm
Cost: $20

James Madison High School is offering families with a variety of camp programming – from Art & Pottery to Multi-Sport – for campers age 7 to 17 at Madison High School.
