THANK YOU TO SOUTH LAKES UPS STORE!

The UPS store of South Lakes in Reston donated 4800 books with a retail value of $19,000.00 to Dogwood, Terraset, Lake Anne and Forest Edge elementary schools and Reston Interfaith, a local non-profit agency.

The UPS store has donated a book to every student in our school.  We will have this big book give-away on December 23, 2009.  We are so excited to be the recipients of this great donation! When mailing packages either now for the holidays, or in the future, please patronize the South Lakes UPS store as a thank you for this outstanding donation!

Decimal Glasses Help Miss McGrane's Third Graders See Decimals More Clearly

Miss McGrane’s class is learning about decimals.  They were having a difficult time understanding the connection between fractions and decimals until they put on their decimal glasses!  They made everything so much clearer!  Here’s what some of the students had to say.

"The first time we did decimals it was kind of hard, but with decimal glasses it was easier." -Klara "It was hard to learn the decimals but when I had the glasses on it was fun and helped make it easier than it was before." -Ian
