Decimal Glasses Help Miss McGrane's Third Graders See Decimals More Clearly

Miss McGrane’s class is learning about decimals.  They were having a difficult time understanding the connection between fractions and decimals until they put on their decimal glasses!  They made everything so much clearer!  Here’s what some of the students had to say.

"The first time we did decimals it was kind of hard, but with decimal glasses it was easier."

Buddy Reading is a Huge Hit!

Ms. Dodd’s fourth graders and Mrs. Dueno’s first graders are Book Buddies. The two classes are meeting bi-weekly to learn from books and from each other!! This is a great opportunity for students to make new friends and share their love of reading.

Sixth Grade Gets Goopy Exploring Topography

indesMrs. Damon’s class constructed salt maps to help learn the topography of our country. The students labeled the main regions, mountain ranges and important rivers. Getting messy and having some fun always helps learning!

Mrs. Byrnes' Second Grade Practices Basic Map Skills

Students used Pixie 2 by Tech4Learning to draw maps of someplace that was familiar to them. Some students chose to make maps of their bedrooms, others the world, and others the playground at school. They need to show direction and placement of objects as well as use symbols, keys, and labels.
