Jump Up to McLean (Algebra and English Prep) - August 12th through the 16th Want to ensure a solid foundation for Algebra 1, Algebra 2, English 9 or English 9/10 Honors for you student? Sign him or her up to attend a week long summer session designed to give them a solid foundation in fundamental skills, helping to ensure success in one or two of those courses. It is FREE of charge and transportation is provided from your local elementary school. The workshop descriptions and registration form is attached. Please register no later than Friday, June 21 using the attached form. Be sure to complete the Emergency Care Form as well. The link is on the registration form. Space is limited so it will be on a first come, first served basis.
McLean Summer Institute for Rising Freshmen - August 19 through the 22nd This workshop is designed to prepare rising freshmen students for success at Mclean High School both academically and socially. Last year we had over 200 students attend and they truly enjoyed every moment. The teachers and staff a dedicated to making sure the students have a great time, learn how to be successful here and to make new friends. It’s also a time when we can begin to instill some of the core values fundamental to the culture at McLean: we value and respect one another, we pay attention to one another’s needs, and we look for ways to support each other. There will be transportation from your local elementary schools. The bus schedule will come out late July or early August. There is a $60 charge but if you need assistance, please contact your counselor. Please review and fill out the attached registration form. Be sure to complete the Emergency Care Form as well. FREE SAT PREP FOR ALL STUDENTS ON-LINE You can now access this online test prep program from your Family Connection account anywhere that you can get on the Internet. Look for the prepme link on the left side of your Family Connection home page, set up your account, and start with an SAT or ACT diagnostic test—then work on the lessons and quizzes to build your skills.
FCPS SUMMER SCHOOL-FCPS Summer School registration begins on Monday, May 6th. Classes may fill before the end of the registration period so students are encouraged to register early. Contact your student’s school counselor for more information. http://www.fcps.edu/is/summer/index.shtml
