About London Towne Elementary School

London Towne began in 1969 and now annually educates over 800 students from the Centreville area. Our motto is, "Whatever it takes."

LT has an outstanding curriculum designed to meet the needs of every learner. In addition to the standard classroom program for grades K-6,
all students are provided music, art and physical education programs.

For children whose needs exceed those opportunities offered in the standard classroom, there are the following programs:

English for Speakers of Other languages (ESOL) instruction, Learning Disability (LD) resource support, speech and language instruction, and a gifted and talented (GT) program.

London Towne provides instruction in Spanish for those students who wish to learn a second language. Over 200 students in grades K-6 are taught math, science and health each day in Spanish, to improve language acquisition and to broaden their educational experience.

There are two full time elementary guidance counselors to assist with home and school concerns. A reading teacher is available to the classroom teacher for enrichment and remediation. The reading teacher is also a resource to diagnose causes of reading difficulties, and formulate solutions and suggestions to enrich and extend student performance beyond the standard curriculum.

London Towne has another significant resource for acquiring young minds - the 17,000 volume library, staffed by a full-time librarian and secretary.

The London Towne community, comprising of students, teachers and parents provides a fertile learning environment that starts each of our young people on the path to becoming productive citizens in a great country.
