    About London Towne Elementary School

London Towne Elementary School has served the Centreville community for 42 years. Opening in 1969, our school is proud of its rich history and very grateful for the thousands of children who attended London Towne over these four decades!

Today, our school is composed of a diverse student population with a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, languages, talents, learning styles, and abilities. With this wonderful, rich foundation we strive to provide a warm and inviting school climate.

London Towne boasts of its many programs which are complimentary in nature and research based. A hallmark of our school is the Spanish Immersion Program, which began 15 years ago and continues to grow in quality and strength. We also offer full-day Kindergarten, an Advanced Academic resource teacher, Literacy Collaborative professional development for all of our Primary teachers and Reading Recovery for our first grade students. Our students also benefit from a full time Technology teacher, an ESOL program, two full time Guidance counselors, and several instructional coaches. Special Education teachers work within an inclusion model, teaming with classroom teachers to provide appropriate and high-quality instruction for our students.

Technology is infused into the curriculum through integrated activities both in the computer lab, several mobile labs, and on computers in the classroom. Each grade level has access to SMART boards, Visualizers, and every classroom has new LCD projectors. The fine and performing arts are also integrated into the curriculum to provide enriching experiences for all students.

After receiving a Teacher Leadership Development grant in 2007, London Towne was chosen last year, to become a demonstration site for other schools. This means that teaching teams work within a high-progress Professional Learning Community, where we continually seek to provide high-quality instruction for all children. We are proud of our collaborative culture where teachers, parents, and administrators operate within a shared vision and mission; always working to ensure that each student experiences success and continuous improvement.
