FHS Goals for the
2007-2008 School Year

We, the Faculty and staff of Fairfax High School, are committed to the following:

• Increasing the academic         achievement of all students
• Strengthening the school         climate in which student         learning takes place
• Expanding professional learning   communities to enhance student and   faculty learning

Principal's Message

Dear Rebels Families,    July 2008

• Have a wonderful 4th of July and we look forward to seeing everyone in September!
• 2008 will forever be remembered as the Year of Champions.........
• Senior Kathleen So was elected Governor at Girls State
• Senior Madison Moss won 2nd place at the National SkillsUSA competition in Photography.
• FHS won a state athletic championship – the VHSL’s Girls Swim and Dive
• FHS won a state fine arts championship – the VHSL’s 1 Act Play Competition
• FHS DECA program in our Marketing Department took 1st place in its National competition.
• FHS Latin Certamen team in our Foreign Language department took first place in the State competition.
• SOL scores went UP for EVERY EOC (end of course) test in ALL SUBJECTS!

• FHS is selected to present at the Parent Information Resource Center's National Conference in July for our work with Hispanic parents
• Ryan Brown has been hired as our new Head Boys' Lacrosse Coach
•The City of Fairfax School Board will hold its annual organizational meeting on Monday, July 7, 2008
• Place an advertisement in the 2008 – 2009 Fairfax High School Directory, contact PTSA rep.
• Earn $ for FHS through the escrip program.....Register to the eScrip program.
• Please turn in used cartridges from printers, fax machines, and copiers for Class of 2009.
