Sixth Grade Innovative Engineering Designs

Sixth graders used their knowledge of different types of energy sources, types of energy transformations, as well as their prior learning of simple machines to design their own Rube Goldberg contraptions. Some of their designs are amazing! Take a look!

First Grade Geo Pictures

This group of 1st graders has been learning how mathematical ideas are connected rather than consisting of isolated concepts.  The unit we've been studying connects math and other disciplines and connects math to daily life. We've learned about various careers that require one to have math skills. We studied how math and science are related when we learned how to find the average of several trials in a recent experiment.

This slideshow shows our newfound understanding of math in art. Students were asked to draw a picture using only POLYGONS…no curves, circles, or lines. You will be amazed at not only the detail and skill in their drawings, but  with the detail in their descriptions as well.

Currently we are studying math as it relates to poetry…recognizing patterns and rhythms in limericks, diamantes, cinquaines, and haiku. Stay tuned, these should be exciting to read in the near future as well.

Parent Input for Class Placements 2013-2014 School Year

In June, our staff will begin the process of creating class lists for next year.  There will be a new system for collecting parent input for class placements that will take place online.  Please click on the link below to fill out the form.  We value your input about your child since you know them best.  The form is designed for you to tell us about how they learn best.  Mr. Erbrecht and Mr. Gerstner will not consider requests for a specific teacher, but we are happy to hear more about what your student needs to be successful.  The input is due to us online by June 30th so that we have the time to process the input over the summer.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  As a parent community, you all have been so supportive to us this year and we value your partnership moving forward!
