Daniels Run Elementary Named a National PTA School of Excellence

Daniels Run Elementary has been named a National PTA School of Excellence for the 2014-16 school years. National PTA’s School of Excellence is a program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. This year Daniels Run worked hard and made progress on increasing family engagement in all facets of our school community. As a National PTA School of Excellence, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and the PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. This program provides guidance to assist schools in engaging families in the school decision-making process, and helps schools build inclusive policies related to education, health, safety or the arts.
Please save the date for our School of Excellence celebration event September 30th at 6:30pm. For more information on our celebration, and to RSVP for yourself and your family, please visit:

Are You HAPPY?

At Daniels Run we sure are HAPPY! Four of our now graduated 6th grade students created a video to show how HAPPY we are at school! Check it out the great work and spread the HAPPY!

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

We are pleased to announce that FCPS is now allowing personally owned computing/networking devices to be used in school for educational purposes. These devices include but are not limited to laptops, Kindles, and iPADs. More information can be found here. See Miss Zuber for more information!

How might your student use their device at school? Check out some ways in this video below:
