Our own Special Education teacher, Diane Bettge, was a finalist for the Outstanding First Year Teacher of the Year award. It is evident Diane loves her job! She is always bursting with new learning strategies, sharing them with co-workers, and displaying professionalism. She is a valued member of the Greenbriar West community.

Summer Reading at the Public Library

Fairfax County Public Library helps make reading fun by providing tools, access and incentives during its Summer Reading Program.
Held in cooperation with Fairfax County Public Schools, the Summer Reading Program runs June 19 through September 5 and invites students from preschool to high school to read for fun over the summer. This year’s theme is “Read to the Rhythm.” To participate, kids can register online or visit a branch beginning June 19.

Calling all Kindergarteners!

We are looking for future Kindergarteners! We need your help in projecting the Kindergarten enrollment for the 2015-16 school year, so we are searching for next year’s students!  Any child who lives within our school boundaries and will be five years old on or before September 30, 2015 is eligible to attend GBW. If you know someone (within our boundaries) who has a child eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information with them. Please contact school registrar, Patty Li, at 703-633-6700.
