Visitors to Franklin

All visitors to the building must report directly to the main office upon arrival. This includes visitors arriving after school hours who would like to meet with a staff member.  An Office Staff member will call or page the requested staff member to determine his/her availability.  Teachers frequently work with groups of students after school, or they may be involved in meetings or other activities, so please make sure to make the main office your first stop. Thank You!

Kiss and Ride Alert! Students’ safety is most important! All students who are driven to/from school should be dropped off at the Kiss and Ride lot only! Cars should not drive through the bus loop, which is the road directly in front of the school. Please do not drop-off students in the main parking lot and do not have them cross the bus loop road.  Be aware that buses drive through during the morning and at afternoon dismissal and after-school dismissal.

Kiss and Ride is one way. Cars should pull-up to the sidewalk to meet students. Please do not direct your students to meet you in the parking lot or to cross the parking lot to meet you on Lees Corner Road. Again, students’ safety is most important!

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Bryan Holland, Assistant Principal, Bryan.Holland@fcps.edu, or the School Resource Officer, 703.904.5100.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Franklin Middle School learning community, consisting of parents, students and staff, is committed to a rigorous and differentiated instructional program in a safe and nurturing environment. The curriculum and climate challenge and support each student to strengthen core knowledge and higher level thinking, awaken curiosity and creativity, apply problem-solving strategies, develop self-advocacy and communication skills, and become community-minded, life-long learners.

Franklin MS Clinic Reminder

Did you know that middle school students cannot transport any medication to or from school?  All medications that a student may need during the school day must be brought to school by a parent or guardian along with a completed medication authorization form.  There are no exceptions to this policy.  Medication authorization forms are available in the school office or may be downloaded from www.fcps.edu/forms.htm.  Questions?  Please call Kathy Palumbo in Franklin's clinic at 703-904-5110.
