New Bell Schedule for the 2015-16 School Year
Our new school hours will be 7:30 am - 2:15 pm. A detailed bell schedule will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
Franklin Jump Start
Jump Start is a week-long introductory program (August 10th-14th) offering our rising 7th graders the opportunity to boost their literacy and numeracy skills, enjoy structured P.E. activities, and benefit from a “jump start” on the new school year. Students will be provided with a variety of activities to familiarize themselves with the middle school setting, and advanced opportunities to learn the “nuts and bolts” of the middle school experience before Franklin’s doors open in September. After July 10th, registration forms can be picked up at Franklin Middle School during summer business hours (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) or you may print a copy of the registration form here.
As indicated in the Registration Guidelines, all completed forms and accompanying fees should be delivered to Franklin Middle School during summer business hours. Registration is limited to a maximum total of 100 participants.
CyberSecurity Camp at Chantilly Academy
The 2015 CyberSecurity Camp hosted by Chantilly Governor's STEM Academy will take place August 10-14. Space is available for students in grades 7-12. No prior knowledge of cybersecurity is required! The registration fee is $150 and includes all camp supplies, t-shirt, lunch, snacks, and drinks. Please click here for the flyer and registration link.

Oakton High School Jump Start Program
Registration for Oakton High School's Summer Jump Start Program is now open. Jump Start will run from August 11 - 13, from 9:30 - 1:30 each day. Rising freshmen will have the opportunity to participate in tours of the school, Q&A sessions with current students and teachers, peer-building activities, and simulated classroom lessons. Through these activities, students will become adjusted to the culture of Oakton High School. Lunch will be provided by local restaurants; transportation will be provided by FCPS. You will receive an email closer to the date of Jump Start with bus stop information. The cost of the program is $150; checks can be made payable to Oakton High School and mailed to the school in care of Brandon McCulla by August 1. Questions? SIS Parent Accounts
FCPS is providing SIS parent accounts to each parent of a student at our school. This enables access to view your student's attendance, report card grades, and additional information, establishing another form of communication between home and school. SIS letters have been mailed with instructions for activating your parent account. Please view this short video which contains additional information. If you have further questions, please contact Franklin during normal school hours.

Awards and Recognitions
Franklin Middle School is the proud recipient of the 2013 Board of Education Distinguished Achievement Award.
FMS Custodial Staff was recently honored with the distinction of Custodial Staff of the Year, 2012-13, and a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding building and grounds maintenance, 2012-13.
