Franklin Jump Start is a week-long introductory program (August 15th-19th) offering our rising 7th graders the opportunity to boost their literacy and numeracy skills, enjoy structured P.E. activities, and benefit from a “jump start” on the new school year. Students will be provided with a variety of activities to familiarize themselves with the middle school setting, and advanced opportunities to learn the “nuts and bolts” of the middle school experience before Franklin’s doors open in September. For more program information and registration guidelines please click here.
Please click here for a registration form, or beginning July 8, registration forms can be picked up at Franklin Middle School during summer business hours (9am - 2pm). Registration is limited to 100 participants, and all completed forms and accompanying fees should be returned to Franklin Middle School. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Lesson at email@example.com.
The schools in the Chantilly Pyramid with the support of the Chantilly Pyramid Literacy Team are excited to be working together to present the Chantilly READS Challenge!
The reading challenge is open to all K-12 students and staff members. Students and staff will log their individual reading minutes using a Google form. Our goal is to read 5,000,000 minutes from March 2016 through February 2017.
The Chantilly READS Challenge link below can be used to enter and track reading minutes:
Born to Run Memorial 5K
Saturday, June 18 was a beautiful day and FMS hosted over 180 runners who came out to celebrate and remember Jannine Parisi's spirit. Our special guests were Nancy Belluce and her sister Connie, representing Jannine's family, and Jeanne Comeau, president and CEO of NAMI of Northern Virginia. This year's event was a success due to the combined efforts of our school community, especially the Born to Run committee, the FMS PTA, and over 70 volunteers.
Please visit Potomac River Running to access race results. Race photos may be viewed here. For more information about NAMI of Northern Virginia and its mission to help those impacted by mental illness, please click here.

SIS Parent Accounts
FCPS is providing SIS parent accounts to each parent of a student at our school. This enables access to view your student's attendance, report card grades, and additional information, establishing another form of communication between home and school. SIS letters have been mailed with instructions for activating your parent account. New account registration will be available after the start of the school year. Please view this short video which contains additional information.
FCPS 24/7 Learning (Blackboard) Parent Accounts
Beginning on September 8, 2015, parents must have a SIS account in order to access FCPS 24/7 Learning (Blackboard) parent accounts, and will use SIS logon information to enter Blackboard. Parents who did not activate their SIS accounts must do so at https://sisparent.fcps.edu in order to access Blackboard.
The latest edition of the Kiteline is available here.
