Eric Brent has served as executive principal of Region 4 since July 2014, working with and for the staff, students, and parents in the Centreville, Lake Braddock, Robinson, South County, and West Springfield Pyramids. As executive principal, Brent works with 36 schools, providing support and mentoring to principals, monitoring school improvement plans, and working with the region leadership teams. He also works closely with the Region 4 assistant principals, guiding them through their professional development.
In addition to his current role, Brent has 29 years of public education experience. While in the Fairfax County and Prince William County school systems, he served 18 years as a teacher, school counselor, director of student services, and assistant principal. He also served 11 years as principal in both divisions, in Fairfax County at West Potomac High School and Mount Vernon High School, and in Prince William County at Forest Park High School.
Brent holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing education from James Madison University, a master of arts degree in student personnel services from Virginia Tech, a certification in school administration from the University of Virginia, and is currently pursuing a doctorate of education in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
