Food and Nutrition Services Partners with Local Food Banks

Legislation supports partnerships that donate safe leftover foods from student lunches (school purchases and lunches brought from home) to local food banks. To ensure that food donations from student lunch leftovers are safe and healthy, Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) provides guidelines to assist schools with the implementation of the program in the Donation of Student School Meal Leftovers to Local Food Banks Memorandum of Understanding.
