As some students return to in-person instruction, we will employ the concurrent instruction model. We will follow strict safety and health protocols to minimize health risks for students and staff. As additional grade levels return to school, we will employ concurrent instruction for in-person students, a model in which students receive 2 days of teacher-led instruction in the school building and 2 days of teacher-led instruction at home. Concurrent Instruction
As additional grade levels return to school, we will employ concurrent instruction for in-person students, a model in which students receive 2 days of teacher-led instruction in the school building and 2 days of teacher-led instruction at home. The concurrent instruction model is currently being piloted in several schools.
Concurrent instruction maximizes teacher-led instruction (2 days in person, 2 days virtual) by allowing in-person students to “log into” class on at-home days. Teacher-led concurrent instruction is the best instructional model for our in-person students.
- The concurrent schedule for elementary school would be two days of instruction at the school led by the teacher, and two days at home of virtual instruction led by the teacher.
- The concurrent schedule for middle and high school would be two days of instruction at the school led by the teacher, and two days at home of virtual instruction led by the teacher.
- Teachers will use Mondays for planning. Mondays will be independent work days for students.
Students who prefer to continue full-time virtual learning will receive four days of teacher-led instruction while learning from home.
Here is an example of a concurrent week schedule:
Students would be assigned to Group A (In-school), Group B (in-school), or Group C (online full-time).

Elementary Group B would be online Tuesday and Wednesday and in-school Thursday and Friday.
Elementary Group C would be online Tuesday - Friday.

Secondary students in Group B would be online Tuesday for periods 1,3,5,7 and online Wednesday for periods 2, 4, 6, 8 and in-school on Thursday for periods 1, 3, 5, 7 and in school on Friday for periods 2,4,6,8.
Group C would be online for periods 1,3,5,7 on Tuesday and Thursday and online for periods 2,4,6,8 on Wednesday and Friday.
