COVID-19 Vaccine for FCPS Employees

Appointment Scheduling Begins January 14

Good afternoon FCPS Staff,

The COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to FCPS staff via Inova Health System, in partnership with the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD), starting this Saturday, January 16, 2021. All FCPS employees will have access to the COVID-19 vaccine as a part of the Virginia Department of Health 1b group of other essential workers. All FCPS staff who wish to access the vaccine will have the opportunity to receive their first dose in the next three weeks.

FCPS developed a COVID-19 vaccine schedule for staff, outlined below. The schedule aligns with the order in which student groups will return.

Registration Details

FCPS staff are asked to schedule their appointments (following the timetable below) using this Inova COVID-19 Scheduling Link beginning early Thursday, January 14. Staff are asked to schedule appointment times during their designated week only. After visiting the link, staff will select from the drop-down menu to set up their appointment time. Employees are asked NOT to share the sign-up link with anyone else as it is specifically for FCPS employees. Sharing the link to those outside of FCPS may result in fewer vaccination spots for essential FCPS staff. Information in this letter can also be found on the FCPS website.

The vaccine offered at this time is Pfizer-BioTech. Learn more about this specific vaccine on a fact sheet here. Please read this important information and share it with loved ones or family members as you make your decision. The fact sheet provides answers to many of your questions about the vaccine. Receiving the vaccine is a personal choice and FCPS will respect each individual's decision.

For employees with an ADA accommodation who choose to receive the vaccine and plan to return to the physical work site, please contact EERADA@fcps.edu.

I encourage all staff to familiarize yourselves with information about the vaccine by viewing COVID-19 Vaccine Information from the Fairfax County Health Department or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention here. These sites contain the most current health information.

Thank you for partnering with us on this exciting development. These difficult months have required an "all hands-on deck" effort by all of us. As we move forward into a new chapter of the pandemic together, I want you to know that I greatly appreciate each of you and your service to FCPS and our community. Thank you for your continued flexibility and patience over the past year and in the weeks and months ahead.

Sincerely,
