Gap Year Fairs
February and March 2021
Look Beyond the Classroom
FCPS School Counseling Services and USA Gap Year Fairs invite you to participate in this year's Virtual Gap Year Fairs to learn about the growing array of gap year opportunities and how they are operating during the pandemic. These fairs will provide students with a broad exposure to gap year programs that emphasize experiential education and personal growth through travel, language immersion, directed study, outdoor adventure, community service, internships, and more.
The fairs will begin with a 40-minute "Gap Year 101" webinar lead by an expert gap year counselor in which families will learn the basics of planning gap time. Following the webinar, participants in the virtual sessions will be able to browse info sessions and have face-to-face conversations with gap year program providers, trip leaders, advisors, and gap year alumni. Participants will gain a better sense of which gap year programs might suit their unique interests and aspirations.
Events
All events are virtual. A few days before the event, attendees will receive information with a Zoom link to the webinar and instructions for attending the virtual fair. Watch What to expect at the Go Overseas Virtual Fairs for tips and resources for making the most of your virtual gap year fair experience.
