Bryant High School’s Howard Brewer Is the 2022 Virginia Region 4 Teacher of the Year

Howard Brewer, Alternative Schools Teacher for Interagency Alternative Schools located at Bryant High School, has been selected as the 2022 Virginia Region 4 Teacher of the Year. Dr. Scott Brabrand, superintendent, presented the award at a surprise ceremony in the Bryant High School library today. Brewer is also now a finalist for the 2022 Mary J. Bicouvaris Virginia Teacher of the Year. 

Terri Hodges Named 2021-22 School Psychologist of the Year

Congratulations to FCPS school psychologist Terri Hodges! She received the Virginia School Psychologist of the Year Award for the 2021-2022 school year from the Virginia Academy of School Psychologists. This award is given each year to a psychologist in Virginia who meets the highest professional standards and performs in an exemplary manner.

FCPS Graduation Rates Reach Record High for the Class of 2021

Graduation rates released by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) indicate that 94.6% of Fairfax County Public School (FCPS) students in the class of 2021 graduated on time, up from 93% in 2020. FCPS’ 2021 graduation rate exceeded the statewide on-time graduation rate.
