World languages students from South Lakes High celebrated Foreign Language Week by enjoying the cultures of foreign lands. During the week, morning announcements featured language jokes, trivia, and useful phrases while the warning bells featured music from different cultures. Students celebrated Latin with a toilet paper toga contest. French language and culture were appreciated in a film and fondue event. Students took part in a Zumba class with many of their teachers in honor of the Hispanic culture. German culture was represented with a toy car race and pretzels. An origami event during lunches represented the Japanese culture. And all cultures were celebrated with some friendly rivalry in a mock Olympics competition.
