Woodson HS Students Complete Mental Health First Aid Training
Nine Woodson High students have completed Teen Mental Health First Aid training and are now certified mental health First-Aiders. Teen Mental Health First Aid is being offered to students in the Our Minds Matter clubs in FCPS. The course offers evidence-based training that teaches teenagers the skills they need to recognize and help their friends who may be experiencing mental health or substance use problems or crises, and how to get the help of an adult quickly. The Woodson students are the second cohort of FCPS students to be trained. Diane Ross, FCPS school psychologist, served as the instructor for the course. Contact Ross at email@example.com.
