West Potomac Academy Emergency Medical Telecommunications students (911 Dispatch) are benefiting from a partnership with the Fairfax County Department of Public Safety and Communications (DPSC). Academy students enjoy regular virtual classroom visits by DPSC staff members in support of curriculum topics.  Students have also learned about DPSC and its many departments, seen videos of employees at work, learned about their career paths, heard examples of 911 call recordings, and participated in interactive lessons with DPSC employees.  DPSC supports the program  by providing presentations and opportunities for career shadowing and tours of the DPSC facility. Colin Flannigan teaches the class. Contact news liaison Maria Kappel at makappel@fcps.edu.
