FCPS announces the appointment of a new principal.

Nicholas Zapadka has been named the new principal of Freedom Hill Elementary School, effective October 18.  He comes to FCPS from Loudoun County Public Schools, where he most recently served as an assistant principal at Tolbert Elementary School. He also served as a social sciences teacher and as a teacher leader during the founding year of a middle school in Loudoun. Zapadka also worked for Fauquier County Public Schools as a summer school principal and an alternative education positive behavior learning teacher. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Allegheny College, a master of arts in teaching from the University of Pittsburgh, and a doctor of education in educational administration and supervision from the University of Virginia. He also holds an endorsement in Educational Leadership and Supervision from George Washington University.
