FCPS announces the appointment of a new principal.
Lisa Barrow, current director of professional growth and career development in the Office of Professional Learning and Family Engagement has been selected as the new principal of Cooper Middle School, effective March 2. Prior to her current position, Barrow served as principal at Sleepy Hollow Elementary and assistant principal at Marshall Road Elementary and Frost Middle. She has teaching experience in special education; having served as a middle school emotional disabilities department chair. At the district level, she coordinated the division equity and cultural responsiveness team and was a member of the FCPS Virginia tiered systems of support team, providing support in the development and implementation of the division-wide multi-tiered systems of support for students. Barrow received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Arts in education from the University of Connecticut. She completed her endorsement in PreK-12 administration and supervision at George Mason University.
