University of Richmond Basketball Player Visits Orange Hunt ES
The Orange Hunt Elementary Owls recently were visited by a Spider. Grant Golden, starting forward for the University of Richmond Spiders men’s basketball team, spoke with fourth graders from Jill McDaniel and Alana Stanley’s classes. Golden spoke about four of the Positivity Project traits that he finds important; he highlighted that Gratitude, Perspective, Perseverance, and Purpose are all traits that he focuses on. Regarding Perspective, Golden said that it is, “understanding how lucky we all are.” He reminded the students that they are lucky to have such a nice school with all the teachers and parents to look out for them and care for them. Golden was invited to the school as part of a presentation by fourth grader Athan Martin. Martin and Golden met a few years ago and Golden has become Athan’s mentor in basketball and life.
