Substitute Teacher Arrested

News Release
January 17, 2020

Below is the letter sent to Glasgow Middle School Families:

Glasgow Community,

I am dismayed to inform you that Albert Keys, a substitute teacher at Glasgow was charged today with two counts of indecent liberties and one count of simple assault involving two students at the school. Additional details are available in this FCPD press release.

Glasgow staff was recently made aware of these allegations as a result of a student report. We immediately contacted the parents of the students involved and worked with authorities to conduct a thorough investigation. The charges today are a direct result of that investigation.

It is important to know that Mr. Keyes did not have any contact with students once the allegations were made. Our staff has been and will continue to fully cooperate with the police during their investigation.

There is no greater responsibility than the safety and well-being of our students. While I am deeply troubled by this situation, I am proud that the strong relationships we have with our students allowed us to respond swiftly and appropriately.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,

Shawn DeRose, Principal
