Students Create 3D Model Cities at Forest Edge ES
Sixth grade students integrated art and math to extend their learning about surface area and volume at Forest Edge Elementary. The students planned, mapped, and created 3D model cities. After measuring the area and perimeter of two-dimensional shapes, they then created buildings to place on their city footprints. Students also calculated the surface area and volume of the 3D rectangular prisms and cylinders in their cities. Contact Susan Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
