Stone MS Students Study Sewer Science
Stone Middle seventh grade life science teachers set up hands-on science experiments for students to learn how water is processed in a sewer system. By using a unit called Sewer Science, students created dirty water by dumping in items such as coffee grounds, cereal, pet food, and cut-up plastic. They then learned the process of how the water is cleaned before it flows back into local rivers. The students had a lot of fun making dirty water and looking at microorganisms.
