South Lakes HS JROTC Leaders Prepare Ninth Graders for Cadet Life
The student leaders of South Lakes High’s JROTC program, with guidance from Maj. Joseph Schuler and Sgt. Tony Handy, held a JROTC preparatory camp for incoming ninth grade students. The camp—planned and led by students—was designed to teach the new students basic drills, introduce them to the three teams, and begin physical training, including completing the obstacle course at Massanutten Military Academy. Students also enjoyed fun team building activities. This program is just one of the many student-led projects from student leaders produced in South Lakes’ Seahawk Battalion.
