South County HS Key Club Makes the Season Brighter with Ornaments
The South County High Key Club, determined to continue its 10-year holiday tradition of making holiday ornaments, created ornaments out of common household items during a virtual meeting. Because of the pandemic, many organizations are not accepting donations, so the group got creative and will be sending their ornaments to the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad in Blacksburg, an all-student run rescue squad that covers the Virginia Tech campus 24/7, 365 days a year. Not only are they serving as emergency medical personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are also full-time college students taking classes virtually and in person. Some students will be able to travel home for the holidays and others will stay on campus for safety reasons or to make sure the campus rescue squad duty is covered. The Key Club donated a tree to the group and this year they felt it made sense to ensure that the tree was covered in ornaments. Contact Megan Pitts at email@example.com.
