Robotics Students Use Rapid Technology Deployment at Mount Vernon HS
At Mount Vernon High, robotics students take development to the next level with the introduction of Rapid Technology Deployment. Students are given challenges that require creative ideas to solve. They then have 60 minutes to design and build a robot or mechanism to solve the problem. This week’s challenge was the “Lassie and Little Timmy Challenge.” Students designed a robot to fit down a 14-inch well shaft and recover a 25-pound object using a winch or retractor. Students have also begun using neuroscience to create brain-powered remote control. They tried to predict when their classmate was about to laugh by monitoring his brainwaves.
