McNair Students Visit Fairfax Academy for Interactive, Hands-On Experiences
Fairfax Academy welcomed the McNair Elementary Boys and Girls Mentoring group for a day of touring, participating in interactive and hands-on experiences in classes, and hearing directly from current academy students. The 15 students and three teachers from McNair visited five academy classes, which they selected, and learned what current students do in those classes. They danced, used autotune, created a beat, took photos in the studio, and browsed an industry magazine. McNair students also saw academy students performing and using professional equipment. Current students shared information about their middle and high school paths, what the academy has meant to them, and which careers they are considering.
