Juliette felt an urgency to help healthcare staff and immediately got to work using her sewing machine to make the masks. She’s using cotton fabric and elastic to make fitted and surgical masks and larger masks to go on top of N95 face masks. Doctors and nurses can put the homemade masks on top of their N95 masks to help prolong the life of their masks. Many admissions staff might not receive masks, but they are also at risk because they are among the first people to come in contact with a patient. The fabric masks made by Juliette can be washed and reused. Juliette is working with the Million Mask group; organizers have drop locations around the DMV area.
