Kindergarten Students at Hutchison ES Receive Blankets with a Message to Attend School Every Day
Hutchison Elementary staff members and students are working together to combat absenteeism, particularly among kindergarten students. Working with Project Linus, which provides blankets for kindergarteners to take home and use at bedtime, the school is providing comforting messages that staff members hope will encourage families to get students to school every day. Student ambassadors, who are fifth and sixth grade English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) students new to the country, help prepare the blankets for the kindergarteners, and attach special messages that encourage students to sleep well and attend school daily.
