History of the Americas Students at South Lakes HS Visit Gunston Hall
Distance learning has not prevented the History of the Americas classes at South Lakes High from getting out of the virtual classroom. Students from Jim Wagner’s class were hosted for a virtual visit to Gunston Hall, home of George Mason, for a chance to experience Virginia plantation life in the mid-18th century. The Gunston Hall staff provided a tour of the grounds and fielded a host of questions from students about the work on a plantation, in particular the relationships among the various hierarchical classes from the patriarch to the slave.
